Sony CES coverage @ SCG (Update)

Get all the updates and information from Sony’s CES press briefing right here from Shortcut Gamer

Update: The show has ended and Sony didn’t end up talking about PlayStation. Read below for our comments on the show.

At 5 p.m. PST, Sony will address the press at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

SCG will be following along right here in this article as any announcements regarding the PlayStation brand are made. Keep in mind CES is an electronics trade show, so it doesn’t always focus so much on game announcements.

However, PlayStation is a major part of Sony’s product line so there’s a chance something PlayStation-related will be talked about, as has been the case in years past.

The most likely PlayStation-related hardware to be discussed is Sony’s upcoming VR headset, and we’d imagine that VR will be a big topic at this year’s show all around.

Regardless, keep it locked to SCG for all the updates and announcements as they happen.

Announcements

Gaming:

The show has ended and Sony did not mention anything PlayStation-related aside from a few small comments about the PS brand and some shots of the PSVR headset in the company’s sizzle videos.

As we said, CES is not a gaming show, so we didn’t expect a whole lot of gaming announcements, but Sony has been known to make some announcements in the past, so we wanted to be here to bring you that info. in the case that it was talked about.

That said, the new TVs and sound products were quite interesting and could be attractive to gamers. To learn more about Sony’s non-gaming CES announcements, click here.

We’ll keep this post updated throughout the week if anything PlayStation-related should arise. Thanks for hanging out with Shortcut Gamer.
