Update 2: Video removed

Disney Interactive live-streamed a new episodic show this morning, for the first time, called Disney Infinity Next, which revealed some upcoming figures for Disney Infinity 3.0 and detailed the new Marvel Battlegrounds playset.

We’ve embedded the video below, but if you’d like to skip that and just find out what was announced, scroll down to our list.

Announcements:

  • A new playset and content updates will be released for each of the four core Disney brands: Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars. This is being done so more content can be enjoyed without having to buy another Starter Pack.
  • Zootopia: Nick and Judy detailed. Available now. The movie hits theaters March 4.
  • Marvel Battlegrounds Playset: brawler-style game with up to 4 players. Battlegrounds is similar to fighting games like Super Smash Brothers and PlayStation All-Stars. The playset includes eight fully-destructible levels and works with all Marvel characters from 2.0 and 3.0. The team says they’ve “worked tirelessly” to update and alter the playstyle of the characters so that the Marvel Battlegrounds Playset is well-balanced.
  • Four new Marvel characters: Civil War Captain America (included with the Playset), Black Panther, Ant-Man and Vision.
  • Jungle Book: Baloo will be added as a new Toy Box character.
  • Upcoming announcements: More Marvel characters to come. Favorite fish (maybe Finding Dory?), Alice and Wonderland teased.

John Vignocchi, vice president of production for Disney Infinity, and John Blackburn, SVP and GM for Disney Infinity, who hosted the show, added that more Disney Infinity Next episodes will be coming soon.
