Psyonix has also teamed with the NBA for team flags in a new DLC offering
Update: According to a report from GameSpot, Rocket League is also getting free Worms W.M.D. DLC as part of the April 26 update.
On April 26, Psyonix is adding a new “hoops” mode to Rocket League along with an NBA logo flag for the cars in the game in a free update for the game.
The update will expand the game’s offering beyond the current soccer and hockey modes. The “hoops” mode takes place in an arena called Dunk House and players will have to rely on a ramp as well as jump shots to score.
In addition, Psyonix is offering a $1.99 pack of flags, which includes all of the NBA teams, for use with the in-game car customization. The DLC will also release on April 26.
Psyonix also revealed that the game has been played by 14 million players. Not including copies downloaded via PlayStation Plus in July 2015, the game has sold 4 million copies across Xbox One, PS4 and PC. On a $2 million budget with $70 million in revenue from the game and DLC offerings, the game is a success, according to Psyonix.
A physical version for PS4, Xbox One and PC is coming soon and Euro Truck Simulator and Goat Simulator items (pictured) are coming to the game in the future as well.
