Batman Arkham Asylum and Arkham City getting remastered in Unreal Engine 4

The first two adventures in the popular Batman Arkham series are coming to PS4 and Xbox One July 26 along with all of their DLC and extras

Warner Bros. officially announced today that Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City will be getting a remastered re-release for PS4 and Xbox One on July 26 as part of the Return to Arkham Bundle for $49.99.

The announcement comes following several rumors and leaks over the past few months. In fact, the remasters have actually been rumored since March of last year. The original games, along with Arkham Knight, were created using Unreal Engine 3, but the remasters will run in Unreal Engine 4.

The port was developed by Chinese company Virtuous, who worked on parts of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the remaster of Heavy Rain and contributed to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

According to Warner Bros., players can expect “improved graphics, upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects, and shaders.” The games will also include all of the DLC content that was released.
