The spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie will finally be available early next year
A new trailer and release date have been revealed for Playtonic’s upcoming spiritual successor to the Rare-produced Banjo-Kazooie series, Yooka-Laylee, which will now be available in the first quarter window of 2017.
The crowd-funded game raised over 3.2 million development dollars on Kickstarter and will be released for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U and PC.
A toy box/demo version of the game will release in July for those who backed the game with $32 or more, according to the Kickstarter campaign. This demo, like most demos, is meant to give backers an idea of what to expect in the full game.
Playtonic is made up of ex-Rare developers who worked on Banjo-Kazooie and the game takes heavy inspiration from that series, but will also be approachable and enjoyable for fans of other similar series, according to statements made by the developer.
Take a look at the trailer below and let us know if you’ll be picking up Yooka-Laylee when it becomes available.
