EA has revealed the winner of the NHL 17 cover vote and you can sign up for the online beta now

Fans voted for weeks on who would be the cover star of EA’s newest entry in the NHL series and the winner has been revealed.

St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko defeated San Jose Sharks center and team captain Joe Pavelski and will receive the honor of being the cover star of this year’s game.

In addition to announcing the cover star, EA has revealed that a beta will take place soon. Interested gamers can sign up for the beta now and it will begin July 28 and run through August 4. Beta signups must be received by July 7. The beta will consist of Online Versus, HUT, and EASHL modes.

According to GameSpot, “This year’s game introduces The World Cup of Hockey to the series and evolves Be a GM into a new Franchise mode, where you’ll have complete control over things like players, ticket prices, marketing, and even relocation.”
