2013’s Wii U-exclusive hit LEGO game is bringing the chase to more platforms next year

Warner Bros. and LEGO announced today that the 2013 smash-hit Wii U exclusive LEGO City Undercover is making a return next year with a re-release/remaster version for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.

A specific release date was not announced, but it was said it will come out in the spring. This makes sense seeing that the Switch is currently slated to release in March.

There is no word yet on whether the remaster will include any new levels or content, but it was mentioned that more information on the game will be revealed as its release window gets closer.

The original game featured several Nintendo Easter eggs, so one would assume those will be removed for the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game.

LEGO City Undercover follows Chase McCain, an undercover police officer who has to stop a criminal from causing all sorts of shenanigans throughout the city. The game prides itself on parodying stereotypical action and cop movies.

The game made great use of the Wii U game pad, using it for the map as well as its built-in speaker. It also used the game pad for things like scanning for evidence, taking photos and other such mini-games. It’ll be interesting to see how much of this translates to the other versions and whether or not specific features of the PS4 or Xbox One will be integrated.

Stay tuned for more on this game in the coming months. Are you excited for LEGO City Undercover to come to other platforms?
