Sony announces redesigned Gold headset, two new controller variants

PlayStation gets some new accessories soon

Sony has announced a new redesign to its Gold Wireless headset for PlayStation 4 and two new DualShock 4 controller colors.

The new controllers and headset will be available in the next couple of weeks (read: March), according to the PlayStation Blog.

The Midnight Blue and Steel Black controllers will retail for $64.99 and the headset will set your wallet back $99.99.

“The headset maintains everything you loved [about the previous design], while featuring a new sleek design with refined over-ear cushions that make it even more comfortable for long gaming sessions,” writes¬†Product Marketing Manager, Platforms Marketing¬†Steve Schwartz in the blog post about the new headset. “The high fidelity 7.1 virtual surround sound intensifies the audio experience within compatible games. And the augmented noise-cancelling hidden microphones provide crisp, clear communication with your friends and teammates.”

The headset comes with a 3.5mm audio cable so it can be used with PSVR and mobile devices, according to Sony.
