The spiritual successor to MotorStorm from Codemasters is coming to Xbox One and PS4 in June

After Sony shutdown the development team behind MotorStorm and DriveClub,  Evolution Studios, in 2016, many of the team members headed over to Codemasters and formed a new Cheshire, UK studio.

The studio’s first game Onrush was announced some time later and now we finally have a trailer. The game is definitely a spiritual successor to Sony’s exclusive MotorStorm series that was adored by racing fans during the PS3 era.

The game is set for a June 5, 2018 release on PS4 and Xbox One, according to Codemasters.

“Designed to keep players always in the action, ONRUSH is a celebration of sensational speed, outright fun and over the top spectacle,” the company said in a news release. “Players battle it out on track to power up their RUSH meter which enables them to unleash the ultimate manifestation of boost and power as they wreak havoc on their opponents by performing death defying takedowns and stunts.”

The game will feature eight vehicle classes, each with its own unique abilities and feel, the release said.

“Available to pre-order now, players can also get their hands on the ONRUSH DELUXE EDITION which includes eight additional vehicle designs with iconic gold and black liveries, extra Crashtag artwork and Track Tombstones all exclusive to the DELUXE EDITION,” the company said.

Those who pre-order on PS4 will get early access to a beta in May before it becomes available to everyone on both consoles later that month. For more information, Codemasters encourages fans to visit the game’s official site at
